Nithin Set the Platform

Kringsjå won the toss and asked Grorud to bat first. It could have been a tricky assignment — but Nithin Nandan turned it into a showcase.

68 off 40 balls, nine fours, three sixes, strike rate 170. A brilliant innings that gave us a total to bowl at. He mixed clean hitting with smart running and made sure Grorud had a target on the board.

Around him, Kiran Raj chipped in with a quick 19 off 11, Rahul Kaladharan held the innings together with a captain’s 16, and Bibin Thomas and Rijoy P gave us useful starts. Md Rafiqur Rashid was excellent for Kringsjå with 4/19, but Grorud posted a competitive 157/9.

Every Bowler Held Their Nerve

Defending 158 always meant we’d have to bowl straight, field sharp, and hold our nerve at the death. Kringsjå went at us hard — Mahmud Hasan blazed 46 off 31, and Yasin hit 31 off 26 lower down.

But the bowlers absolutely delivered when it counted:

• Kiran Raj: 4-0-20-2 (economy 5.00) — the tone-setter
• Rahul Kaladharan: 4-0-26-2 — two crucial wickets
• Renju Kochumman Raju struck through Mahmud’s dangerous partnership
• Bibin Devasia grabbed a wicket in the final overs

Kringsjå finished on 152/7 — Grorud won by 5 runs.
